Kate comes from a strong and varied health services background, having started her career as a registered nurse, spending over 15 years in clinical and nursing management roles across metropolitan, regional and remote settings. She’s held senior management roles in acute hospitals and community health services, holding positions overseeing nursing, medical and allied health service delivery programs, with a special interest in improving clinical outcomes.
Her work in developing a clinical variance analysis model for acute health services, has been nationally recognised – she is the recipient of the Australian Institute of Health Innovation Award. Kate was also an inaugural recipient of the Victorian Trauma Foundation Fellowship which allowed her to travel to Canada to examine methods of interdisciplinary teamwork in the management of major trauma.
