Rochelle Discovers her Passion for Leadership
Rochelle discovers a passion for leadership and creating positive change for herself, her team, and her participants
Continue readingI graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2016 and was working in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department in a government hospital in Cebu City, Philippines, supporting people in both the inpatient and outpatient departments. On the weekends, I also worked as a pediatric OT in a private centre. There really wasn’t much free time outside of work and I was frustrated by the lack of support and funding for learning and development.
Since I joined Everyday Independence, I can honestly say that I have grown so much, and I can see clearly that I am a better OT than before. I have learned so much, especially in Assistive Technology assessment and prescription. I feel supported, am excited about my future and am learning more about myself as an OT practitioner all the time. I would like to give a huge shoutout to my mentors and team leaders at Everyday Independence for guiding me with my GROW plan and supporting my learning.
I have been really impressed by the huge importance Everyday Independence place on mental health and work-life balance. This has given me the chance to grow as a person as well as an OT practitioner, providing me with the opportunity to focus on my hobbies and activities that are meaningful to me.
