About The Role
Positive Behaviour Support Therapy Mentor 
Location- Western Melbourne

As a Therapy Mentor, you will be an emerging, consolidated or advanced clinician in our hub and will support teams to implement evidence-based disability practice in their hubs and areas.
  
Your Everyday
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner Therapy Mentor at Everyday Independence, no two days will be the same:

  • Be AHPRA registered as either an Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse, hold a Bachelors Degree qualification in Social Work and full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; and Developmental Educators will hold a Current Membership with DEAI
  • Must have been deemed suitable as a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS commissions capability framework
  • Demonstrated extensive previous experience in Positive Behaviour Support in community-based settings, preferably providing supports in a disability setting
  • Strong communicator with demonstrated ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Knowledge of contemporary therapy practises and services
  • Commitment to learning and development
  • Ability to prioritise and influence – enabling the delivery of practical solutions within timelines
  • Experience in working with clinical strategy and working to targets
  • Experience or knowledge with risk prevention and management
  • Ability to compile, analyse and present statistical data
  • Commitment to achieving outcomes for people living with a disability and supporting them to reach their full potential

Who We Are Looking For

To work as a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you’ll have:

  • Be deemed as a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (evidence of letter required)
  • Minimum 12 months experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, Psychological/Social Science or related field)

  • A valid Australian drivers license
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
