Our Peninsula change makers in Mornington, Victoria, donated art supplies to MANA Youth Project to support young people to access art-based support groups where they can freely express themselves, in a safe space. MANA Youth Project empowers young people to become heroes and confidently navigate the trials and challenges of modern life.
At the Youth Arts Hub, MANA Youth Project mentors led three sessions focused on storytelling, gameplay and art, bring together youth, aged between 10 to 25 years. Session participants discussed their interests, forming meaningful bonds amongst themselves and with the mentors who facilitated the sessions. This endeavor is just one among several run by MANA Youth Project that our Peninsula change makers hope to see become a regular occurrence throughout the school term.
On the impact of the experience, Key Worker Kerrianne said, “we were so happy to be supporting a demographic that is normally overlooked. It was rewarding to see some of our participants at the event who have goals to spend more time in the community as well.”
